This is a review of a blog called Global Voice.

Global Voices is a media news room for voices from the developing world.  It was established in 2005 by the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. Then, it has developed as one leading global community which consists of  more than 150 active volunteer authors and translators and more than 20  part-time regional and language editors.

Global Voices enables the global conversation online – shining light on places and people other media often ignore. Obviously, it is a multimedia blog with coverage from words, images, and videos. For example, in the article Madagascar: “Unmitigated Disaster” it provides with pictures to reflect the vivid situation about the disaster. In China: Plateau in Peril ,  readers could watch interviews through videos and to get more detailed information about the plan of China Green.

Readers could check the map and focus on the articles about the places where they are interested. Also, as a global blog, it could be read by different language.

Different form other blogs being written by one certain author, Global Voices collects a variety of thoughts, analysis, and observations from ordinary people.

Global Voices provides a easy and open platform for people to upload news, images and videos. Readers could also make comments freely. However, it is not a professional journlism blog. It is not written by real jourmalists to report the facts with an objective view, while it is more likely a community to reflect various voices.

Though Global Voice can not be defined as a journalism blog, it creats the public sphere and could promote democracy.
